Blackpool North Pier Theatre is pleased to announce three stunning performances of ShangHi from the award-winning Cirque du Ciel; direct from China, beyond Gravity.

The highly awaited and internationally acclaimed production of ShangHi from Cirque du Ciel arrives in UK this Spring and you can see this spectacular show at Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre on Friday 20^th and Saturday 21^st April.

Cirque Du Ciel’s ShangHi will take you on a journey through the mysterious dreams of a little girl as she explores her fantasies. The production was originally directed in China by Cirque Du Soleil’s Guy Caron and will captivate and enthral every audience member.

With over 30 amazingly multi-talented and skilled performers, this marvellous two-hour extravaganza combines acrobatics, modern dance, martial arts, original music and many other traditional and modern Chinese elements in an amazing fantasy adventure. ShangHi is an unforgettable spectacle that you will find hard to believe – it really is the next generation of Cirque du Soleil.

Cirque du Ciel’s ShangHi boasts over 500 superb costumes, intricate scenery, and fantastic and evocative lighting. This stunning production showcases the skills of not only these striking performers, but also the world-class artistic team who created and devised this brilliant multi-media spectacle.

The astonishing routines include hat juggling, terrifying yet beautiful aerial silks, acrobatics and stunts, amazing magical illusions and the famous death defying Chinese monkey poles, a dizzying mix of balancing, tumbling, spinning and brilliant live drumming.
